# How to create HubSpot Marketing Events manually

Last updated on Apr 29, 2026 by Luuk De Jonge

## Goal
It can happen that Marketing Events are not automatically created by your webinar or event platform, or there is an in-person event that needs to be tracked manually in HubSpot. In this guide we'll look at how you can create one manually.

## Step-by-step guide

### Requirements
- HubSpot Marketing Events work on all HubSpot plans
- You need a Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise account to associate Marketing Events to Campaigns.

### 1. Navigate to Marketing Events
#### HubSpot Dashboard
- Log in to HubSpot.
- Go to the `Marketing` menu.
- Select `Events` from the dropdown to find your HubSpot marketing events.

### 2. Open the Creation Form
#### Marketing Event Creation
- Click the black button in the top right corner labeled `Create Marketing event`.

### 3. Fill in the Event Details
#### Marketing Event Information
- **Complete the form with the following information:**
  - **Name**: Enter the name of the event (e.g., "my offline event").
  - **Description**: (Optional) Enter a description of what the event is. This can be left empty if you want.
  - **Type**: Select the type of event (e.g., offline event).
  - **Start Date and Time**: Select the date and time the event begins.
  - **End Date and Time**: Select the date and time the event ends.
  - **Organizer**: Enter the name of the organizer (e.g., Contrast, or your own name).

### Create the Event

- Click the `Create` button. You will be taken to the marketing event object, which functions like a CRM object where you can attach notes and tasks, or use it in campaigns, landing pages, and promotion emails. Discover how in other guides.

## Common problems and solutions

### Why would I manually create a Marketing Event instead of using an integration?
If your webinar or event tool doesn't have a native HubSpot integration, manually creating an event lets you still get all the CRM benefits — tracking attendance, using data in workflows, and giving your sales team visibility — you'll just need to add registrants and attendees yourself.

### How do I add registrants and attendees to a manually created event?
After creating the event, you can add contacts individually by searching for them inside the event record. You'll set each contact's status as registered, attended, or no-show.

### Can I still use manually created events in workflows and segments?
Yes. Once contacts are associated with the event and have a status assigned, that data works exactly the same as any other Marketing Event — you can filter segments, trigger workflows, and include it in lead scoring.

### Is there a faster way to add a large list of attendees manually?
If you have a big list, the most practical option is to import contacts via HubSpot's standard contact import and then use a workflow or list to associate them with the event. It's a few more steps, but beats adding people one by one.

### What webinar platforms integrate with HubSpot Marketing Events?
Please be sure to check your webinar platform's help articles to understand whether they integrate with Marketing Events. If you're looking for a webinar platform that integrates with HubSpot, you should check out [Contrast](/content/site-root.html). It's the top rated webinar platform on the HubSpot Marketplace and also used by HubSpot.
